How Long Does It Take You to Return Your Phone Calls!?

telephoneSee this phone? Know why I made it green? Yup, its the color of money. Well, in the US, anyway.

Every phone call you don’t return promptly could mean a lost client.

Why?
People sometimes go down a list and end up working with the first person who answers the phone or calls them back. It’s true — I’ve gotten clients by being the only one who actually answered the phone! Or sometimes, people decide that if you aren’t interested in talking to them soon, they want someone else who is.

So what do you do when you hate returning calls, hate talking on the phone to prospective students… and hate it that you hate it so much?

This used to be a big problem for me, even when I knew that people were calling because they were already interested in what I do. I mean — how much better does it get? But I know… for an introvert, it can be tough, even when you realize that the person wants to talk with you!

Try This!
Take a minute or two before you dial the number, to get in touch with WHY you do the work you do, and to recognize that if you can’t get over your stuff and make this call, you are depriving someone of something they need. Connecting with our higher purpose often puts us into our higher selves… and in that place, phone calls are easier!

Try it and let me know how it goes!
