When you’re a holistic practitioner who’s passionate about doing your work, it’s important to remember that one part of your work is bringing in clients. It’s so easy to forget about it because for most of us, the reason we learned to do what we do is that we love working with people – not because we wanted to sell our services!
That’s why it’s so important to learn about the ways we can keep in touch with our clients and the people who have expressed interest in what we do. It will take most people quite a few ‘touches’ before they turn up for a consultation, and there are so many different ways we can it, that surely there’s one that will work for you!
Here’s one you may not have thought much about: Mobile Marketing. You’ve probably received mobile marketing messages from one or more of the national companies that have jumped onto this new way of getting their message out. It may not have occurred to you that you can easily use it, too!
Why is mobile such a good idea? The biggest reason is that everyone is just too busy these days, so consider these marketing facts:
- It takes 90 minutes for the average person to respond to an email, if they respond at all. Two days later, you could still be waiting for an answer!
- It takes 90 seconds for the average person to respond to a text message.
- 70% of all mobile searches result in action within 1 hour. (Source: Mobile Marketer)
- There are more mobile phones on the planet than there are TVs. (Source: Jupiter)
- 91% of all U.S. citizens have their mobile device within reach 24/7. (Source: Morgan Stanley)
Think mobile marketing is going to be too confusing? My mastermind partner, Lisa Marie Platske, will be talking to Mary Barnett about it all in just a few days. Mary won the Mobile Marketing Award for Innovation for helping Kawasaki send 93,000 customers to their 1500 dealerships in the summer of 2009! I met her at Lisa’s Leadership Summer earlier this year, and I can tell you — she’s the Go-To Person for mobile.
She’s going to help us get our feet wet on Thursday, March 22, at 3 PM. There’s no charge for the talk, but you need to register.
What I’ve discovered about building a holistic practice is that we’re all going to do it in ways that we feel comfortable. If you use your smart phone a lot, chances are that a lot of the people you’re attracting as clients do, too. That means that mobile marketing could be a really great way for you to get the word out about your holistic practice!
